Q: What are ZipChips?
A: They’re a new kind of healthy snack from Bekaa Farms. They come in four flavors: Crunchy Apple, Cinnamon Swirl, Pecan Crunch, and Cranberry Crunch.
Q: Are they truly healthy?
A: YES, truly. Instead of “reconstituted potato flakes” seen in so many of today’s “natural chips”, we have a novel concept: Actually use the raw fruit itself. Anything less is not real health food. ZipChips are truly healthy because they have all natural ingredients, nothing artificial, and are (strange but true) actually good for you!.
Q: How are they made?
A: We always get this question. ZipChips are prepared in such a way that the nutrients that began in the chip don’t get boiled, fried, or otherwise removed through processing. Instead, through our proprietary manufacturing process (that means top-secret), we cook them to lock in flavor, enhance texture, and retain all of the goodness they started with.
Q: Are your products gluten free?
A: YES: All ZipChips are gluten free and processed in a gluten free environment. In fact, we are in the process of getting certified nationally … which means we have one more thingy to put on the label, but that’s a good thing.
Q: Are your products safe to eat for people with peanut allergies?
A: YES: While there are no peanuts anywhere in our production environment, there are Almonds and Pecans (by design) in our recipes. Peanuts are nowhere near the manufacturing facility.
Q: How can I get some?!
A: ZipChips are increasingly available throughout the West. As of year’s end 2012, you can find them at retailers in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California. For a list of retailers, see here. Also, for convenience sake, you can always place your order direct from our website!
Q: You claim to be ‘local’. What does that mean?
A:Bekaa Farms is ‘local’ on several different levels. First, we are a company with roots in the Pacific Northwest. We proudly source our main ingredient (apples) from growers in both Washington and Oregon. Second, our production facility is located in Camas, WA and we don’t plan on going anywhere Finally, (and just as important) we are committed to doing business with integrity and the personal touch. People, afterall, are the most important part of any business.
